The best trivia games for road trips and travel
Quick answer: The best travel trivia games are quick to start: geography quizzes about the places you pass, flag and capital challenges, describe-the-word games, and daily puzzles you can play anywhere.
In the car
Passengers can quiz each other on capitals, flags or the countries you will visit. Word games where you describe something without saying it work well for everyone, including the driver as a listener.
On the plane
Daily puzzles and timed challenges like naming every country help long flights pass faster.
Learn about your destination
Before a trip, play a landmarks or national dishes quiz about the country you are visiting.
Games for each part of the trip
What to play and when:
| Moment | Game |
|---|---|
| Leaving home | Capitals of the countries on your route |
| Motorway | Describe it, don’t say it |
| Traffic jam | Twenty questions |
| Waiting at the airport | Daily puzzles |
| On the plane | Name every country in 15 minutes |
Staying safe
The driver should never play on a phone. Choose spoken games the driver can listen to, and leave screen games to passengers.
